2015 OPEN WHEEL MODIFIED RULES

RULES

1. Basic UMP/IMCA rules. Rear of bell engine housing flange at least 72” forward from the center of rear axle. Engine offset within 2” of center line of front cross member. Minimum engine height 11” from front center of crankshaft to ground. NO REAR SPOILER.2. Standard type roll cage not less than1.5” outside diameter and wall thickness of at least .095.3. No altering of brake rotors/calipers. No single disc brake rotors. Must be O.E.M.4. Exhaust headers:No TriY or merge headers.5. Factory production US car frames,Frames may be cut a maximum 36" from center of rear end housing, Frames complete in front of firewall.6. Frames may not be widened or narrowed. Front cross member may be notched for radiator clearance. Minimum frame & body height from ground is 4”.7. Front O.E.M. suspension in stock location. Must be replaceable by stock part from same type suspension. No aluminum shocks. Stock passenger car spindles only. No fabricated spindles. Bottom A-frames cannot be altered or moved. Control arms copies may be used that are approved.8. Tube type upper A-frame allowed and may be moved.9. Coil over shocks OK per UMP rules. No coil over shocks on front!!!10. Rear of frame may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Any coil springs must be at least 4 1/2” outside diameter. No fiberglass springs. No fiberglass lift bars. No rear torsion bars.11. One steel shock per wheel, no external adjustment. No lay down shocks less than 12” from brake rotor. $75.00 claim per shock.12. Wheel base: Minimum 108”, Maximum 112”. No front clips or tube type allowed. No aluminum suspension or rear-end parts. No aluminum or fiberglass drive shafts. Steel only.13. With a level, roof centerline must have no more than 2" clearance at rear and no more than 5" at front.Sail panel from roof to body, maximum bow 4". One gasket per surface. 0.070"maximum each. No electric fuel pumps. No magentos21. No high volume oil pumps. Must be GM,no more than 60 psi at 2,000 rpm.22. Pump gas or Track fuel only. No alcohol, no nitrous oxide, nitrous methane, propylene oxide or any type of additives are permitted. Fuel may be checked at any time.23. Any passenger car type rear end maybe used. No aluminum allowed, except lowering blocks, axle cap and drive plate.Any truck rear end OK. (May require spec gearratios)Attached is a copy of the OWM body rules we will use with NO Spoiler.24. O.E.M Steering box with original bolt pattern for type of frame used. No center steering. No rack/pinion.25.Reverse Starter mounted okay,Power steering must be mounted in front of engine.26. No aluminum shells, hubs, “A”frames, spindles or any other aluminum suspension parts. No plastic carbonwheels. All calipers O.E.M. No machining or lightening of caliper.27. Minimum weight with driver 2,400 lbs at all times. No tolerance.28. Tires: 8" American Racer G60-15 KK704 No Grooving no Siping,No soaking-- Track Tire Protest rule will be in effect,Track may cut samples and send to lab at any time!!!!!!!!!!Both rear tires must be showing when observed from rear of car.29. Steel racing wheels maximum 8”,bead lock right side only.30. Maximum overall width (front or rear) 78” from outside of tread to outside of tread. wheel. Maximum 1” steel or aluminum spacer allowed on front only.31. Protest fees: $300.00 cash,Acceptance fee $100.00. Track keeps $100.00. Remove intake manifold and one head. Check: Intake, Head, Pistons, Cam, Bore, Stroke & displacement.Additional $200.00: Crankshaft, Rods,Clutch, Flywheel. Seal bolts do not make an engine legal. Engine may be used without seal bolts but must meet all criteria as per GM specs.ENGINES:602 Crate...Engine may be used without seal bolts but must meet all GM SPECS with EXCEPTIONS::: May change Rods,Mains, Cam Bearings,and piston rings--No coated bearings,production only,No "HIGH" performance or RACE bearings of any kind allowed!!! Any 4 barrel carb, No High volume oil pumps,Must be GM oil pump,No more than 60 psi oil pressure at 2000 rpm!!!

 

2015 LIMITED SPORTSMAN RULES

 

1. Standard U.S. made rear wheel drive cars.
2. Stock or FASTRAK BODY RULES... (Except 6” spoiler max.) 
3. Firewall or floorboard may be removed and replaced with steel. 
4. Bumpers: Stock or after market tube type. Rear of car may be open. 
5. Stock frame cars. Camaro may be used but frame has to be connected and has to have full door bars on both sides. 
6. Uni-bodied cars may install tubing in rocker panel area to connect roll cage. Must extend all angles to front and rear sub frames. Rear suspension mounts must remain in stock configuration with stock mounting points. May change rear coil suspension to leafs. Three link may be used but can only run rubber biscuit, no spring allowed. Must be track approved . 
7. Optional tube type stock front clip type frame.....Stock front clip must go rearward toward firewall, at least 10'' behind center of front springs. Stock lower control arms, 5" coil springs and coil-over eliminators OK. coilovers ON REAR ONLY. Stock rear type mount or solid 3-link mount rear suspension with rubber biscuit.(No springs allowed on 3-link) Sliders, weight jacks, and spring spacers OK, coilovers allowed on rear (no gas or adjustible rebound & compression)). Panhard bar or J bar allowed. Anything other than mentioned above must be Tech APPROVED.(((((2x2,2x3,or round tube chassis with stock front clip allowed ))) 
8. 102'' minimum wheel base. Steel Wheels 15'' maximum width 12''. Bead locks ok. 
9. Front suspension stock lower control arm with tubular upper control arm ok. Racing shocks ok, and may relocate. 
10. 90/10 shock on top of rear end of leaf spring cars o.k. Only one shock per wheel.. 
11. Steel OR alum tub Quick Change rear end Ok 9'' Ford in Chevy is OK.
12. Transmission must have all working gears and OEM type. 
13. MUST RUN multi-disc clutch. 
14. No steering racks.
Limited Sportsman Engine Rules 
1. Standard GM 350 production engine,or ford ,dodge with the same engine specs as chevy......as in cubic inch ,etc .... 
2. Front spark plug inline with top ball join 1" tolerance or stock location . 
3. Max. Overbore .060 GM ‪#‎s‬ 041, 186, 291, 461, 462, 492, Bow Tie out of the box OK, , no porting or polishing only machine work allowed is valve job, and head surfacing. Vortec heads allowed. 
4. Aftermarket Valve Springs Ok, Two per cylinder, Max. 2.02 intake and 1.600 exhaust. 
5. Three angle valve job OK, no titanium valves. 
6. Forged or cast pistons, flat top or dished. May not protrude from cylinder bore. No domed pistons. Any type of piston rings, any type wrist pins, may balance. 
7. Crank stock stroke 3.48'' and min. 48 lbs. Rods 6.0''MAX stock or steel rods OK. 
8. Intake (ANY 4 BARREL INTAKE UNTOUCHED). 
9. Adapter plates are allowed.May run 2'' spacer on 602 gm crate motor,May run 1'' spacer on performer 2101,7101 
10. Carburetor: ANY 600 cfm or smaller. ANY 650 Carburetor allowed (choke horn may be removed.) Venturi and Base must be untouched!!! 
11. Any fuel pump 
12. HEADERS ANY (NO TRI-Y'S) 
13. Solid or hydraulic cams and lifters with Roller rockers Ok, Screw in studs OK. Cam driven by chain only. 
14. Wet sump only. Internal pump only, Oil cooler OK. 
15. Stock types or MSD type ignition Ok. 
TIRE RULE:American Racer Medium Compound (No Grooving or Siping!!!)
WEIGHT Any type chassis tube with stock clip or full frame & gm 602 crate motor 2800 lbs Tube with stock clip 2900 lbs Any car with Vortec heads 2950 lbs Any car with Bowtie Vortec heads 3000 lbs. 
ALL Lead must be securely fastened to the race car in order to promote safety. Lead must be painted white, silver, or highly visible color. Include car # as well. Unsecured lead is subject to track inspection, regulation, possible disqualification if deemed unsafe
No mirrors allowed.


The Renegade Division is a class that is designed to allow the individual to participate in V8 stock car racing at the lowest possible cost. Very limited modifications are allowed to the cars, suspensions and engines. The class is open to a wide variety of American made, V8 automobiles. Cars may be any stock appearing American Cars or ½ ton trucks (standard cabs) with a minimum wheelbase of 108 inches. Camaro year models from 1967-1981, Nova models from 1968-1980 are allowed. 
BODy: 
Front fire wall must be steel and may be moved for engine clearance. Floor pan must be stock, and in stock OEM position. Rear firewall may start behind drivers seat. Aluminum or steel may be used to box in drivers compartment. Cars with a boxed in interior must have a 12” x 12” removable inspection panel to check enclosed area. Any patch panels installed in the floor pan due to rust or damage must be steel. All interior panels must be sealed well enough to prevent fire, hot oil, or fuel from entering the drivers compartment. Body must be in stock OEM location on frame and cannot be channeled over frame. After market tail and nose sections allowed. Roof may be OEM, aftermarket stock or replica. Rest of body can be fabricated from steel or aluminum, but must follow stock body lines and must not exceed stock dimensions. No fiberglass. No cold air boxes around carburetor. May cut hood for air cleaner clearance. May use 2 ½ in. high hood scoop or deflector. Must run hood at all times unless crash damage prevents it. 6 in high spoiler is allowed, no side panels. Spoiler can be no wider than the top edge of the quarter panel. Uni-body cars may have bracing in critical areas and may use 2 x 3 x .095 tubing in rear to replace damaged OEM frame rails. New rails cannot extend any further forward than the front leaf spring mount. Frame ties are allowed. All vehicles must have roll cage as specified in safety section. No hinged panels on body. 
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION: 
Steering: 
Steering gear must be OEM for make of vehicle being raced. Steering column may be after market collapsible type or OEM with quick release steering wheel hub mandatory. Quickner ok. 
Springs: 
Must be stock appearing and in original location. 5 in maximum diameter. No progressive rate springs allowed. 
Shocks: 
Any steel non-adjustable stock appearing shock may be used. Front shocks must remain in OEM position. Rear shocks can be moved and may use Heim joint ends. $50.00 claim rule on shocks. See claim procedure in General Rules for East Lincoln Speedway. 
Front A Frames: 
Lowers must be OEM stock in unaltered stock location only. Uppers may be tubular or modified OEM. They must mount in unaltered OEM position. Spring spacers are allowed in front. Adjustable spring buckets may be used on rear. Adjustable shackles may be used on leaf springs. No screw jacks, adjustable lowering blocks, or sliders allowed. Rear control arms must be OEM stock and in stock position. Uppers may be modified for pinion angle. .”A” Frames and control arms may be reinforced. All suspension bushings must be OEM type. No mono-ball type bushings allowed. 2

 

ENGINE: 
Must be same make as car. Must be strictly stock with the following exceptions, no factory high performance parts allowed. Cubic inches: Chevy- 350, Ford- 351, Chrysler-360. .060 maximum overbore will be allowed. Block must be factory cast iron OEM production block only and must not be altered in any way. May be zero decked. Late model 302 Ford, 305 Chevy, and 318 Chrysler engines with factory stock hydraulic roller cam and lifters may be used. Must have OEM stock valve train except cam. The rest of the engine must follow standard engine rules. 
ENGINE LOCATION: 
Engine may be set back no further than the number one spark plug in line with the upper ball joints. 
CRANKSHAFT AND RODS: 
Must be factory OEM production or stock replacement cast steel only, not altered in any way. No balancing of rotating assembly allowed. After market rod bolts are allowed. 
PISTONS: 
Must be factory OEM type cast, hypereutectic or forged, direct replacement dished, or 4 valve relief flat top pistons only. No light weight racing pistons allowed. Rings must be standard size 5/64” 5/64” 3/16”. Factory applied skirt coatings are OK. 
HEADS: 
Must be factory OEM cast iron straight plug only. Absolutely no modifications to ports or combustion chambers allowed. No high performance or double hump heads allowed. No Bow Tie or Vortec heads allowed. Combustion chambers must be a minimum of 70cc. No angle milling of head to alter valve angle from stock 23 degrees for Chevy or stock specification for any other brand. 3 angle valve jobs are allowed. 60 degrees maximum angle. Stock diameter valve springs only. Any steel retainer allowed. Rocker arm studs may use 3/8 in. screw in. Guide plates are allowed. Stock stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms only. No roller rockers allowed. Poly locks are allowed. No stud girdles allowed. 
VALVES: 
Must not exceed 1.94 for intake or 1.50 for exhaust on any head. Must be stock or direct replacement only. No undercut heads or stems. No titanium. No hollow stem valves allowed. 
CAMSHAFT: 
Must be hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters only. Any timing chain may be used. No gear drives allowed. Camshaft may be degreed. Duration is open. Valve lift may be a maximum of .425 for Chevys and a maximum of .450 for all other brands. 
OIL PAN AND PICKUP: 
May be any wet sump, steel only. 
COOLING SYSTEM: 
Must remain in stock configuration. Radiator may be aluminum direct replacement or racing type.. 
BALANCER: 
OEM stock only or direct replacement SFI. 3

EXHAUST: 
May run up to 1 3/4 in. primary tube, standard collector, 4 into 1 header or stock manifolds only. Exhaust extensions may be a maximum of 24 inches, including the muffler. This measurement will begin at the end of the header collector or exhaust manifold, to the very end of the muffler or extension. Fender well headers may also be used. No coatings allowed. No tri-y headers, merge collectors, or “x” pipes allowed. Track approved muffler required. 
INTAKE MANIFOLD: 
May be stock OEM cast iron, low rise, 2 or 4 barrel, or Edelbrock #2101 Performer only. No alterations to ports allowed. 
IGNITION: 
Factory OEM stock HEI type only. May modify advance. No MSD or high performance add-ons allowed. 
CARBURETOR: 
Any 2 or 4 barrel factory OEM stock allowed, or Holley 600 #1850, Holley 600 #4776 or Holley 650 #4777. Holley 350 or 500 2 barrels are also allowed, with an adapter plate, if needed. No other carburetors are allowed. All carburetors must be stock appearing. Jetting may be changed for tuning. May remove choke flap on any carb. No spacer plates allowed. No 4 corner adjustment. 
AIR CLEANER: 
May use open element 14 in. x 4 in. maximum air cleaner. High performance filter elements allowed. May use 2 in. high maximum air cleaner riser. 
FUEL PUMP: 
Must be OEM or direct replacement mechanical pump only. No high performance pumps allowed. An electric fuel pump will be allowed but must have an oil pressure cut off switch. 
DRIVELINE: 
Rear end must be stock OEM for type of vehicle being raced or be a stock type 9” Ford. 9” Ford floaters are allowed and are highly recommended. “C” clip eliminators are allowed for GM rear ends and are highly recommended. Any gear allowed, differential may be locked. Driveshaft must be OEM and painted white. At least one hanger required. 
TRANSMISSION: 
May be stock OEM 3 or 4 speed, or automatic. Must retain all gears with reverse. Automatic must retain working torque converter. Straight drive must have single disc OEM type clutch and pressure plate. Clutch must be 10 ½ in diameter with full lining. Mechanical or hydraulic clutch release mechanisms may be used. Straight drive flywheel must be OEM type steel and a minimum of 14 lbs. Blow proof bell housings or scatter shields are mandatory for all transmission types. SFI approved flex plates are mandatory on automatics. 
BRAKES: 
Must be factory OEM brakes, disc or drum. Brakes must work on all 4 wheels. No cutting or lightening brake rotors. Racing type pedals may be used with dual master cylinders. No brake bias adjusters inside the car. No brake shut off valves allowed. No aftermarket aluminum calipers. 
WHEELS: 
8 in. wide x 15 in. steel wheels only. Right side may use outside bead lock. ½ in studs and nuts recommended. 4

TIRES: 
American Racer P265/60-15, medium compound.Tires cannot be siped. No tire softening agents of any kind allowed. Tires cannot be screwed to the wheel in any way. Grooving OK. 
WEIGHT: 
Minimum 3200 lbs. after race with driver. Proper car weight must be posted on both sides of the hood in a minimum of 3 in. numbers, MANDATORY. 
FUEL: 
Pump gas or approved race gas may be used. No performance additives of any kind allowed. Fuel cell must be in compliance with safety section of East Lincoln Speedway General Rules. Will be checked.

ANY ITEM NOT SPECIFIED IN THESE RULES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR BEFORE COMPETITION OR IT IS NOT LEGAL.

 

 

2015 RENEGADE RULES

2015 STRICTLY STOCKS RULES

ALL ILLEGAL PARTS WILL BE CONFISCATED AND THEREFORE THE PROPERTY OF TRACK.
Each Strictly Stock will be inspected for the following performance enhanced items:
a. Carburetor b. Pistons c. Intake d. Heads
e. Cams f. Fuel Pump & Location g. Engine Location
1. ENGINES – Chevrolet – A stock 350 cubic inch engine may replace any other Chevy V‐8 Engine. Maximum overbore on Chevy .040. All other makes and models must retain stock model and type of car. Maximum cubic inch limit in any car is 360 cubic inch. No removal or alterations to casting numbers allowed on any engine part. Machined steel crank pulley allowed, NO ALUMINUM.
a. CRANKSHAFT – Must be OEM stock for engine used.
aa. No lightening holes, O.D., trimming or any other lightening features. Oil holes may bechamfered.
bb. Main bearing diameter 2.448.
cc. Connecting rod journal diameter 2.100.
dd. Minimum weight 48lbs.
ee. All throws and counter weights must not be narrowed or knife‐edged. No center
cutting on counter weights. No holes through crank pins.
b. PISTONS – Domed Pistons NOT ALLOWED. Flat Top pistons are allowed. Cast pistons must be Full Skirt, Matching four eyebrows and three rings in stock location. Chevrolet must use STOCK OEMCAST or CAST REPLACEMENT PISTONS.
c. RODS – Stock OEM connecting rods must be used. No modifications allowed. Aftermarket rod bolts are allowed. MUST be 5.7 length.
d. CYLINDER HEADS – STOCK OEM IRON HEADS ALLOWED. No guide plates allowed. NO VORTEC,BOW TIE, DART, BRODEX, ETC., or ALUMINUM HEADS ALLOWED. NO Angle milling allowed. No Angle Plug heads allowed. No more than 3 cc’s can be flat machined or ground from gasket surface of cylinder heads. Factory cc specs will be used as guidelines. Valve stem diameter to be .343” +/‐
.005”. Intake valve head diameter not to exceed 1.940” – Exhaust valve diameter not to exceed 1.500”. Screw in studs allowed. NO poly locks.
e. CAMSHAFT – Hydraulic cams and lifters ONLY. No roller cams or lifters allowed. Camshaft lift may be measured at the valve rocker arm. The maximum valve lift will be as follows:

f. ROCKER ARMS – Stock rockers and stock ratio (1.5) must be maintained. Long slot rockers allowed. Chevrolet rockers must have stock triangular insignia. No guide plates.
g. EXHAUST MANIFOLDS – Stock OEM cast iron exhaust manifolds ONLY.
h. INTAKE MANIFOLDS – Stock cast iron two‐barrel intake manifold for year, make and model of engine type – NO aluminum.
• The maximum thickness of gaskets and spacer (if used) must not exceed a total of ¼”, which will be measured from the base of the carburetor to the top of the intake manifold.
i. IGNITION – Stock OEM point or HEI distributors allowed. No aftermarket distributors allowed. NO MSD or ACCEL. Stock coils only.
j. FUEL PUMP – Stock OEM stamped steel bowl type pumps only. NO Holley style.
k. CARBURETORS – Stock carburetors/fuel injection only. Maximum throttle bore 1 11/16” and maximum venturi bore of 1 ¼”. OEM replacement parts only. No speed parts. No race type carburetors. No boring or polishing of throttle or venturi bores allowed! No modification of throttle shaft, butterfly screws, or internal parts allowed. NO race style HOLLEY carburetor.• The hole in the center of the booster disc must not exceed 1/8” diameter.
l. OILING SYSTEM – NO racing oil pans. 
m. BELL HOUSING – Standard transmission cars must have commercially manufactured all steel blowshield. A 1” diameter inspection hole MUST be located at the top of the bell housing to permit a visual inspection of the flywheel and converter.
2. BODY –a. Stock bodies only
b. NO Cockpitting Allowed. Passenger side and rear area of drivers compartment will not be sheeted over. All holes must be covered in firewall, floor & trunk bulkhead. NO radios or mirrors.
c. Floorpan on driver’s side must be steel. NO ALUMINUM.
d. Body in stock location.
3. TRANSMISSION – Stock for year, make and model. Cars using an automatic transmission must have stock OEM converters. Standard transmission must have stock size flywheel, clutch & pressure plate. NO 4 SPEEDS ALLOWED!
4. WHEELBASE – Minimum 107” center to center.
5. GAS TANK – Must be relocated into truck of car and a metal firewall placed over back of the rear seat deck. Fuel tank must be located in the center of the trunk area with full floor plan enclosure.Fuel cells HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..
6. RADIATOR – Any stock passenger type allowed. Aluminum radiators are allowed, but must be stock type. NO RACING TYPE RADIATORS!!!
7. TIRES & WHEELS – All 4 tires must be the same letter and number size. Street tires only, DOT racing tires are not allowed. Maximum size P225, 70 series or higher. 14 or 15” diameter OEM wheels or any 7" wide, 3" offset+/‐ ¼” tolerance.steel aftermarket wheel. Wheels and tires must be the same size – ½” allowance on wheel width. NO GROOVING ALLOWED. Stock‐tread only, No mud, snow, studded, directional or re‐cap tires allowed.
MEASURING WHEEL BACKSPACE
Wheel offset is measure from the back edge of thewheel to the mounting pad. The easiest way to dothis is to lay the wheel face down; put a straight edge
across the back of the wheel and measure down themounting pad.
BRAKES- All four wheels must have working brakes. No ALUMINUM calipers or slotted rotors. Brake system must remain fully stock and in working order for make of car. 
8. SEAT – A commercially manufactured ALUMINUM racing seat is mandatory. Seat must be securelyfastened to roll cage in 6 spots – 4 on the bottom and 2 on the back of the seat. A functional padded headrest must be in line with the center of the driver’s head if not using a top‐racing seat. Stock location only. NO fiberglass or plastic seats allowed.
9. WINDOW NETS – Mandatory and must be able to open and close. No mirrors.
10. WINDSHIELD SCREENS – Windshield screen must be ½” square heavy‐duty steel wire screening. Must be supported with two 1” vertical supports at least 1/8” thick. Duct tape sun visors only 6” wide –Visors only until sun goes down.
11. BELTS & HARNESS – Mandatory 3” width safety belt and shoulder harness with 2 belts going over theshoulder and of quick release type. A minimum of 1 submarine strap. All belts & harnesses must be securely fastened to roll cage.No frayed or worn belts.
12. SHOCKS – NO RACING SHOCKS ALLOWED!! Only one shock per wheel permitted and must be in stock location. No jacking bolts allowed.
13. SPRINGS – Coil – Any coil can be used. Leaf – Same number of leafs on both sides of car. No spring cups/spacers or jacking bolts. No cutting of frames or altering suspension parts.
14. HELMET & FIRESUIT – It is mandatory that all drivers wear an approved racing firesuit , racing helmet(2000 Snell approved or newer),neck brace, and racing gloves . Full‐face helmet is MANDATORY. Nomex socks, underwear,hood, gloves & shoes recommended.
15. ROLL BAR – 4 upright bars will be mandatory with 3 side crash bars on the driver’s side.
a. The four upright bars must be connected at the top in a square.
b. Have a rear support from behind the driver to the frame.
c. All cars will be required to have a middle windshield bar that runs from the roof bar downward to the dash bar.
d. Gussets on corners are required.
e. Padding around driver’s head is required.
f. 1 ½” outside diameter steel pipe.
g. Upright bars behind the driver’s seat MUST be X’ed.
h. Vent window bar is mandatory on left side extending from left front upper corner to top door cavity sidebars.
i. All tubing in the engine and trunk compartments must fit behind the stock sheetmetal and must not be visible from the outside of body. Front bars cannot extend beyond rear of radiator.1” square tubing or 1” round tubing allowed in front of radiator used for radiator support ONLY.
j. Roll cage set back minimum 29” from upright main to center of rearend.
17. BUMPERS – All bumpers must be standard for the make and model of the car. Bumpers must be welded to the frame support to prevent them from rolling off. Bumper ends must be plated, bolted, or welded to the fenders or quarters to prevent hooking.
18. CONTROL ARMS – Any stock configuration aftermarket tubular upper A‐Arms will be allowed. A‐Arms must be one piece steel, non‐adjustable cross shaft with stock steel ball joint. Distance from center of cross shaft to center of ball joint is 8” on right side and 8 1/2” on left side. No other lengths will be allowed. Lower control arms should be original equipment stamped steel mounted in stock location on
frame. Stock lower control arm length is 14 3/8” measured from mounting center line on frame to center of ball joint. All measurements are for 78‐88 GM metric chassis components. NO monoball bushings allowed. These control arms are available at Capital Warehouse (800) 278‐2692.
19. REAR ENDS – Must be stock OEM. Stock tread width must be maintained. Rear control arms should be stock stamped OEM with all mounting points on frame and rear end housing in stock location. Upper control arm length is 11 ¼” measured from center of bushing to center of mounting hole. Lower
control arms measure 19 ¼” center to center on bushings. Measurements are for 78‐88 GM metric chassis components. The maximum width of rear‐end is 61”.
20. BATTERY – Must be mounted in the firewall where the heater core was located. The battery must be completely sealed from the driver’s compartment.
21. DRIVE SHAFT – Drive shaft must be painted white STEEL ONLY. All cars must have driveshaft sling no more than 6” behind front U‐Joint.
22. WEIGHT – Minimum 3000lbs., with driver anytime.

2015 U-CAR DIVISION RULES

1. 1980 or later 4CYL front wheel drive only.

2. Completely stock, as it was sold. No homemade or aftermarket parts. *Note may use aluminum on bodies,but it must look stock appearing!!! Must have Factory roof,Must be Stock appearing nose. 4" spoiler okay.

 

3. May run any springs / spring rubbers.

4. Stock fuel injection or carburetor for that make and model of car.

5. No forced air induction systems.

6. Factory air induction with no modifications.

7. All belts and all pumps must remain in place and operational. May remove AC Pump.

8. Battery either in stock location or in metal box if moved to an approved place.

9. Fuel-cell recommended gas only.

10. Any steel wheels up to 8''. Large wheel studs OK. Any 60 or 70 series street DOT tire 13”, 14”, 15" or 16” untouched. NO racing tires of any type.
All wheels and tires must be the same size.
11. All suspension must remain in stock location.

12. Rear seats must be removed and steel enclosure added to protect driver in case of fire.

13. Full roll cage, at least 4 driver side door bars, or 3 bars with a 3/16 plate welded to outside of bars inside of door. At least ¼ thick 3” x 3” steel plate at each mount to floor. Full cage is 4 point but 6 point is recommended.

14. Weight--Minimum weight 2200 lbs. Dual cam 2300 lbs. weight must be posted on drivers side fender!!!

2015 Enduro Rules

2015 General Rules

 

SAFETY:

1. Driver MUST wear full-length sleeves and pants. Fireproof racing suits, gloves, and shoes recommended. Approved racing helmet (minimum Snell 2005 rating) MANDATORY.

2. Roll cages strongly recommended with seat back bracing. Window net recommended.

3. Working shoulder harness and lap belt (minimum) MANDATORY. Five-point racing harness recommended.

4. Working fire extinguisher, securely mounted in center of car and accessible from all sides MANDATORY.

 

BODY/CHASSIS/ENGINE:

1. Any domestic or import sedan, coupe, hatchback, station wagon, light-duty pickup truck, or mini-van allowed. No sports cars, full-size trucks, full-size vans, or SUVs. No convertibles. T-tops must be covered with metal.

2. Engine must be 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder. No turbos, intercoolers, or superchargers. No all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. ALL ENGINE COMPONENTS MUST REMAIN STOCK!

3. Maximum wheelbase 110”.

4. All suspension components MUST REMAIN STOCK! Springs, shocks, struts, control arms, spindles, sway bars, trailing arms, axles, etc.… STRICTLY STOCK!

5. All glass must be removed. Windshield is to be replaced with screen. No Plexiglas.

6. All headlights, taillights, and directional signals must be removed. Center brake light optional.

7. Passenger seats and upholstery must be removed. Rear seatback must remain as firewall or be replaced with tin.

8. Fuel tank must remain stock and in stock location. Tank must be secured by two (2) metal straps. Tank may be replaced with racing-type fuel cell, securely mounted.

9. Battery must remain stock and in stock location. Battery must be secured by one (1) metal strap and covered with rubber to prevent arc/sparking.

10. Hood and trunk must be fastened with minimum two (2) hood pins. Doors must be welded or chained shut.

11. Bumpers must have two (2) safety straps or chains connected to main frame. Tow hook or chain MANDATORY on both front and rear bumpers.

12. Appearance: Numbers must be clearly displayed on doors and roof, in contrasting color to body. No offensive lettering, pictures, or other signage. “Shark fin” displaying number on roof is mandatory—MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED.

13. No racing parts, engines, tires, wheels, or other components, aside from safety

14. All antifreeze must be removed from cooling system and be filled with water.

                                                          WARRANTY DISCLAIMER

The rules promulgated in this rule book are intended as guidelines for the sport of stock car, auto racing or such racing competition, and the rules relating to the safety of equipment are the responsibility of each car owner, driver and crew member who participates in the sport of auto racing under these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety is intended nor may be inferred from the publication of these rules, nor the compliance therewith. Nothing herein should be construed as a guarantee against injury or death to participants, by-standers or spectators.

Specifications and rules set forth in this rule book are based upon the recommendations of competing members of other organizations and other participants in the sport of auto racing.

Mountain View Speedway specifically states that it has not tested any equipment or use of equipment that it refers to in this rule book and makes no warranties either specific or implied with regard thereto and any use thereof must look to the manufacturer thereof with regard to said warranties.

To aid in the safety of participants in automobile stock car racing, as well as that of the spectators, and to provide for the orderly conduct of stock car racing events, requires close adherence to the rules and regulations set forth. It is the responsibility of each participant, car owner, driver and crew to make every possible effort to obey the safety rules both written and unwritten to assure the safety of all involved. Upon submitting your application for membership and your entering onto the grounds of Mountain View Speedway, and/or grounds you assume this responsibility personally.

                                                                 PIT ADMITTANCE

1.No one under age 14 shall be allowed in pit area.

2.All persons under 18 years of age MUST have a signed minor’s release from a legal guardian and provide a copy of their birth certificate.

3. All persons going into pit area as non-members must sign the non-membership form and release statement.

4. All applications/driver info,W-9’s,ect. must be filled out in full.

5. Management reserves the right to reject any applicant/competitor at any time for any reason to compete/pit access.

6. No person or company shall be allowed to sell or solicit products  or services without permission from speedway management in writing.

7. No car will be allowed to compete without a proper number cleared by the office.Duplicate numbers will NOT be allowed in a division for scoring purposes .You will be notified upon sign-in if a number change is required. No more than three digits.

8.All persons going into pit area may be subjected to random alcohol and/or drug testing.Refusal to test shall mean immediate suspension and/or fines .

9.Space is very limited in pit area.No personal vehicles/ATV’s will be allowed in pit area.

                                                                                     FEES

1.Nightly Pit & Entry Fees may vary depending on track and event.

A person who is suspended from any racing activities FOR ANY REASON shall not receive a refund. Once a person(s) enters speedway property, he or she agrees to abide by all rules set forth by the management.Any fines/fees MUST be paid in FULL before a driver/car may compete again.

No refunds of pit and entry fees once paid will be made.

                                                                          GENERAL RULES

1. Any or all illegal parts may be confiscated without claims from owner.

2. The track official in charge has the right to reject the entry of any car or driver.

3. The decision of the race officials on interpretation of rules pertaining to racing or race procedure shall be final.

4. The scorer’s decision on position is final.

5. Anyone involved in an accident while on the racing premises and who does not report to the official in charge before leaving the premises (provided they are able to make such a report) will not be eligible for benefits prescribed under the Benefit plan.

6. The race director is empowered to permit deviation from any of the rules or specifications herein set forth if, in their opinion, the safety factor is not lowered.

7.The owner and driver only may represent their team in any and all matters pertaining to the race.

8. It shall also be the responsibility of the owner and driver to have under control at all times members of his or her pit crew. This shall include persons who enter the pit area and/or grandstands and cause a problem.

9. No one shall subject any official/staff member  to abuse or use improper language at any time. No person(s)shall not participate in fights on race premises at any time. Violators of these rules may be fined or suspended or both.

10. Mountain View Speedway Management reserves the right to subject any car to mechanical inspection at any time.

                                                                          PIT PROCEDURE

1. All members shall properly sign into pit area in accordance with track policy, and no one shall be allowed in without proper registration and pit pass.

2. Each car must be checked in with the official at the designated area immediately upon arrival at the track. Either the owner or driver will be responsible for checking the car in. If a car arrives late or officials have not been properly notified of its presence, the car will not be handicapped. Any new car MUST be checked in and a number assigned before entering the pits.

3. All excess oil shall be deposited into the waste oil drum provided by the speedway. THERE WILL BE NO

DUMPING OF OIL ON THE GROUND! This oil dump station will be located at a pre-announced spot. If the day after the race a race team’s pit is found to be in violation of the above, the speedway shall charge the car owner a reasonable fee to correct the violations. This money shall be deducted from any prize money the car has won.

**Continual violation may mean suspension.**

4. It is mandatory that all car owners and drivers be present at the pit meeting. The pit steward shall have the option of determining when or if a pit meeting will be held.

5. THERE SHALL BE NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE PIT AREA AT ANY TIME –

BEFORE OR DURING THE RACES. PERIOD!!If you are found in violation of this rule you will be escorted from the premisis!!

                                                                 WARM-UP PROCEDURE

1. The speedway will open its track for warm-ups one hour prior to the announced race time. At this time all cars shall be allowed 15 minutes to make their way onto the speedway. Fifteen minutes following the track opening time, pit gate shall be closed.

2. Following the slow warm-up period all cars on the track will go into the infield. Each division shall then be given a fast warm-up period.

3. Cars that are not on the track for slow warm-ups will not be allowed fast warm-ups.

                                                             TRACK PROCEDURE

1. No car or cars shall be allowed on the track unless the official starter is on duty and he has given permission.

2. At no time will a pit crew or car owner be allowed on the track. Violators may be subject to fines, suspensions, and/or barring from the track.

3. NO repairs will be made on the track, at the track gate, or the infield at any time.

4. If a member of the pit crew touches the car for any reason the car must start in scratch position, and any time a car must go to the pit area for repairs, the car must go to the rear of the field. Any car asked to report to pits by a race official for safety inspection during a race will be allowed to get their position back if no work was needed on car.

5. Any driver who – in the judgment of the officials in charge – causes the race to be halted,shall be penalized a minimum of one lap..

6. No driver, owner or mechanic shall have any claim for damages, expenses or otherwise against the track owners or promoters or track operators, by reason of disqualifications or damage to car or driver or both.They agree that  the track is in a safe and usable condition when they take part in the racing activities, and that they enter the course on their own free will. The race course is open for inspection at any time prior to practice time.

7. All participants are subject to Mountain View Speedway rules and regulations when on the racing premises, and when the cars get away on the first warm-up lap it shall be considered the start of an event.

8. A race may be stopped at any time at the discretion of the starter or officials if they consider it dangerous or unsafe

to continue. If race is stopped under these conditions, and is past the halfway point, the race will be considered officially finished.

9. In case of an accident in the first lap we will go back to original restart minus the cars involved who will fall to the rear as they emerge from the accident. All accidents shall be cleared under the yellow flag (if possible). If the red flag is displayed after a caution flag it means a caution stop, and all cars will keep in line in the position that they are running. If caution laps are being counted and a red flag condition occurs, the race may resume under yellow and laps will continue to be counted.

10. In the event of a serious accident where the red flag stops the race, cars will line up in the order that they were running at the completion of the last lap.

11. Restart order after a caution will be the last fully completed lap. In the event that enough laps have been completed to call the event official, the drivers shall be scored and paid on the position they would have had on the restart.

12. When the checkered flag has been given the leader or winner, the balance of the field receives the checkered flag in the same lap and the race is finished.

13. Finishing positions shall be paid off according to the distance traveled regardless of whether the car is running or not.

14. It shall be the responsibility of the safety crews to clear the speedway as quickly as possible so the race can restart.Any driver who shall interfere with this shall automatically be suspended for one week.

15. No race shall be considered official until the official declaration of the winning position is made and posted by the track officials in charge. If no protest is filed within 10 minutes after finishing positions are posted, the finish shall be considered official. All protests must be made in writing to the pit steward on official protest form.

16. Any driver who drives through the infield in a reckless manner may be placed one lap down or black flagged from that event at the Race Director’s discretion, and may be suspended, fined or both.

17. Any driver who drives into or through the pit area while at a high rate of speed or in a reckless manner while making a pit stop shall be held at the pit gate for one lap when he returns to the speedway, or may be disqualified, and/or may be fined a monetary amount at the discretion of officials.

18. DRIVERS WHO DO NOT FALL IN LINE ON RESTARTS MAY BE PUT BACK TO REAR OF FIELD, OR

MAY BE BLACK FLAGGED.

19. A car that loses its position during an accident may not return to its original position if a car or cars have passed him, but may pick up the position behind the last car to pass him. Race Director has the ability to waive this rule.

20. After all the cars in the pack have passed the scene of the accident, the remaining cars that have not assumed a position will go to the rear of the pack in the order they leave the accident.

                                                             RACE PROCEDURE

1. Cars must take the original green flag in any race to qualify to finish that race.

2. Any car requiring assistance to start for any reason must go to the rear and may be black flagged. Exception – if stopped by flagger.

3. Any car requiring assistance to start after being stopped by the flagger can assume its position held before being stopped unless instructed otherwise by the flagger.

4. Once a race has started driver switches are not allowed.

5. Any driver refusing to go to the rear shall be penalized a minimum of one lap, and possible disqualification from event with no money paid or points earned.

6. Any driver refusing to take the black flag may be suspended at least one week.

7. Once the car qualifies for the event any driver changes shall result in the car starting in the rear!

8. Cars who drop out of the race for any reason during a qualifying event must go to the infield, unless announced otherwise.

9. The top five at the end of the feature must report directly to the scales/tech area before going to his or her pit area. There will be no exceptions.

                                                           HANDICAP & SCORING RULES

1. To be handicapped or allowed to draw for position a car(not just a crew member) must be in the pits one half hour before the first scheduled race of the program. Non-handicapped or drawn cars will run last in heats as determined by the track handicapper. Handicapping opens at 3:15 and closes at 5:45.Check in will be at sign in booth, not pit gate.It is the responsibility of the driver or car owner to check the car in.This ensures that the car will be handicapped.

2. Handicapping is based on points earned by driver during the previous three races at that track. If the driver hasn’t been at the track with a car for any of the three previous races he is assigned winner’s points for the races missed.

3. The number of cars to be qualified in each heat will be posted before each race meet.

4. The number of cars to start the main event may vary, depending on the total number of cars entered in that division on that particular night.

5. It is the driver’s responsibility to notify the track handicapper one half hour before the heat races if he is driving a different car than he last drove at that track. If he does not notify the handicapper any points and money won will be forfeited. A driver may use a substitute driver a maximum of two times per season and still receive points for the event. Any driver who is a regular Mountain View Speedway driver may be approved. Any driver that races in your class at another speedway must be pre-approved by race management . Any and all substitute drivers must be approved by the race director. You may choose a driver from a different class. If you choose from a class above yours, any driver that is not in the top 15 of points in their class will have a better chance to be approved. If a driver is approved to substitute then he or she is approved to substitute for the current race year only.

6. It is the driver’s responsibility to notify the track handicapper if he is driving a car in the consolation race he did not drive in a heat. Failure to do so will disqualify him from the feature. He will start last in the consolation race. Driver will receive last place points if he/she cannot find an approved car to compete in. When substituting cars in an attempt to qualify, both car and driver must be in pit area.

7. It is the driver’s responsibility to notify the track handicapper if he is driving a car in the feature that he did not qualify. Failure to do so will disqualify him from any points or money. He will start last in the feature.

8. If a driver drives a car in the feature that he did not qualify, both he and the driver who qualified the car will be assigned the points earned for handicapping purposes.

9.Only cars that are in pits during heat races will be allowed to race in the feature, unless handicapper has been notified that the car will be late..

10. If a DRIVER misses his posted heat or goes in the wrong heat the car may be placed last in the consolation or start in the rear of his or her posted heat race.

11. Officials have the right to position a qualified car further back in the lineup if it is for the betterment of the race.

12. If a driver qualifies two (2) or more cars, he must drive the last car that he qualified in the feature race, and the first car he qualified must re-qualify.

13. No feature winners can start in the top six in the feature unless the number of non-feature winners will not allow it.

14. If any division has less cars entered for the night’s racing event than it normally starts in the night’s feature, officials have the option of not running a consolation event. If heat races are run and any car entered fails to make the starting field in the qualifying race that car will be allowed to start the feature race in last place.To qualify you must take the original green flag..

15. A new driver shall start from the scratch position in the heat race for two(2) weeks.

16. Any driver who does not regularly compete at Taylorsville Speedway shall start no higher than behind the last qualified car.

                                                                      POINTS & PAYOFF

1. Points and point funds shall be established on a current basis and will be pre-announced at the beginning of eachracing season as to value, etc. Point fund money will be paid to the driver. No point fund money will be paid to anydriver who does not have valid tax information filed with the speedway office by April 31 of the racing season.

2. Any driver receiving point fund money must attend the annual banquet in order to receive that money.

3. Any and all payoff monies must be picked up at either track no later than three consecutive race meets from the race in which it was earned, unless a request has been made in writing to the main office prior to the third event. The owner may designate someone to pick up payoff either by written request or by the use of the owner card at the payoff window.

4. Points will not be kept for transients. Points will be gained in the feature race, unless otherwise announced. A minimum of five points will be given to start any feature. Points will be allotted as follows:

                                                                      PROTESTS

1. NO protests will be considered or allowed while the race is in progress.

2. A protest regarding any matters pertaining to mechanical specifications must be made within 5 minutes after the finish of the race. Protest must be made in writing with $500 cash posted for $250 cash bond posted for all other divisions.

3. A protest may be made by a driver or car owner only , who must be in good standing, participating in that event. Person filing protest may also have to tear down.

4. The officials may enact their own rules for the conduct of the hearing and prescribe the manner in which the protest tear downs may be executed. All decisions made by track officials or inspectors shall be final. It is further stated that no driver, owner or any person or parties shall have any legal claim for damages, expenses or otherwise against track owners or promoters or track operators, its employees, sponsors or any party or parties involved with speedway management regarding any and all decisions involving race procedures, finishes or technical inspection decisions. By entering any race meet you agree to this and waive any rights to any legal claims against the above mentioned entities. Furthermore, speedway management shall have the right to seek reimbursement of any legal fees incurred from any such claims.

All decisions of the race director are final!!.

5. In the event that the car under protest is not legal, the money will be returned. If the car is legal, 80% of the money paid will go to the car owner and 20% will go to cover the cost of the tear down.

6. Any visual protests made after the start of the feature race will not be investigated. (A visual protest is one that doesn’t require any type of measuring device to establish the legality of any part of a car.)

7.All protests shall be in writing and presented to the pit steward only. At no time shall a member take his grievance to the Main office.Only protests made on the official Inspection/Protest/Claim Form will be considered valid!These are available only from the pit steward at the pit tower.

8. Protests regarding official race results must be made within 10 minutes of those results being posted.

9.Speedway  Management reserves the right to reject any and all protests.

                                                            VIOLATIONS, SUSPENSIONS, FINES

All persons are subject to disciplinary action for violation of these rules. Penalties for violations include disqualification, suspension, fine and/or loss of points. The nature of the penalty is determined by the gravity of the harm to the safety and good reputation of stock car racing.

1. Any member who assaults or threatens to do bodily harm to any official, track employee, or persons serving under his direction shall be suspended, fined not less than $500 and shall lose accumulated points.

2. Any member who participates in fights in pits, on track or race premises, may be fined a minimum of $200, may be suspended and may not return until the fine is paid. Anyone who fights will not be covered by track and pit benefits.

3. Any car that is found illegal will lose all points for the event, and at the discretion of the race director may lose all points accumulated for the season at that track, depending on the severity of the infraction.It is further stated that any and all illegal parts may become property of the respective speedway without claim and will not be returned to the guilty party. Race teams that have illegal parts confiscated will have no legal claim against Taylorsville Speedway ,its employees, sponsors or any party involved with Taylorsville Speedway events.

4. Any member, while participating in a sanctioned event or who signs into the pits on race day, may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing, and any person who partakes of any alcoholic beverage or illegal drugs, shall immediately be ejected from the racing premises, and shall be subjected to a mandatory fine of not less than $500 or more than $1,000 and automatic suspension.

5. Any person who fails to obtain a wristband and sign the release forms for that particular meet will be subject to a mandatory fine of not less than $200 and/or disqualification of driver and car associated with the violation.

6. Any member who signs the release sheets or competitor’s sign-in sheet for someone other than himself shall be subject to a mandatory fine of not less than $100.

7. Any member(s) who causes the racing program to be halted for any reason such as personal grievances may be subject to a fine of not less than $200 or more than $500 and/or loss of all accumulated points.

8. Any member, car owner or driver in violation of any spec engine rules or found to be tampering with gasoline will result in loss of all accumulated points to date. Driver and car owner will be suspended for the remainder of the racing season. The driver is as responsible as the car owner, and it shall be the responsibility of both the car owner and driver to know what is legal and what is illegal, and what parts are used in the race car that he or she owns and/or may be driving.

9. All fines shall be paid before a person or persons will be allowed into the pit area or premises.

10.Any member who attempts to bring any grievance to the main control tower may be fined $500, the

member’s race team may lose all accumulated points for the year, and the member may be suspended.

The race team involved will also lose any points for that event.

11. If any race team refuses technical inspections on its car, the car itself, the car owner, and the driver shall be suspended for a minimum of eight (8) race meets and may be suspended for the remainder of the season. Crew members of said car may also be subject to suspension. Race team will forfeit all accumulated points to date.

12.If you are involved in an incident and come to a stop on the race track: LOWER YOUR WINDOW NET AND WAIVE TO LET TRACK PERSONEL/SAFETY CREW YOU ARE OK.

13.Any driver who exits their car after an incident on the track to go after another driver will be disqualified, lose all points and money earned for that event. Driver will also be escorted off property, fined $250 and not allowed to compete in the next (2) racing events.Fine MUST be paid before drive may compete again.(Fine goes into drivers point fund). NOTE:The ONLY time a driver will be allowed out of their car on the track is if it’s on fire or poses a safety issue to them.

                                                                   OFFICIAL FLAG RULES

Any driver who does not obey the flag rules will be subject to disqualification. Where light signals are used, adefinite understanding concerning these signals in relation to the flags shall be made before the race.

GREEN FLAG– Start of race.

BLUE FLAG/YELLOW STRIPE– For passing, and will be displayed only when you are being lapped.

YELLOW FLAG– Caution, go slow, single file, hold position,no passing!

RED FLAG– Danger, all cars must come to a safe and controlled stop. Driver may proceed only after race official permits and it is safe to proceed.

BLACK FLAG– Pull off track for consultation.

WHITE FLAG– One lap to go.

CHECKERED FLAG– End of race.

                                                           PAINTING AND NUMBERING

All cars must be neatly painted and lettered.Prior year’s numbers have preference if reserved by February 15th. After that date they are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. No more than three-digit letter/number combinations allowed. No more than one letter in combination with one or two numbers allowed. No fractions allowed. Numbers must be at least 18" tall and no less than 3"

thick.Numbers must be as large as possible to facilitate scoring.Numbers must be in contrast to car body color. Numbers shall be on each side of the car and on the roof. The number on the roof should FACE the scoring tower, with the bottom above the passenger door area.All letters must be placed in the upper right hand corner of the car numbers. All letters must be NO SMALLER than one-third the size of the car number, and letters must be the same color as numbers. If there is a three digit number used,then the size and the color of all three digits must be the same.All side bars must be painted bright white, yellow, orange or any fluorescent color. The use of clear Lexan door protectors is strongly recommended .Scorers have final say on how numbers appear on car. Car numbers are part of tech inspections. The main determining factor in allowing a number to remain as is, will be the ability to read the number from the main control tower when the car is on the backstretch by race director. Owner or driver will have no claim against race management over this matter.

                                                                   SAFETY RULES

The following safety rules shall be in effect for all divisions of competition – any variation

from said rules in a particular division shall be noted in that division’s own rules section.

ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO SAFETY INSPECTION BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED IN COMPETITION.

                                                                         Roll Bars

1. Steel roll bars are compulsory, and must be approved by Speedway officials. Aluminum and other soft metals are not permitted.Front and rear roll bars must be connected at the top (cage type) and bottom on both sides at seat height. Side roll bars are compulsory and must extend inside into the door panels, (minimum of three on left and right side) with additional support on the back of the roll bars. Side door bars should be convex in shape, with some arch. An additional bar must be installed across the bottom of the dashboard, extending from the left roll bar leg to the right roll bar leg. All full fendered cars  will be required to install an additional “windshield safety bar” to the roll cage.

2.All pipes and bars must be professionally welded all the way around at every joint, and must be" o.d. recommended minimum and walls not less than .095 steel recommended minimum. No pipe fittings allowed. It is recommended that all welds have gussets.

3. Roll bars in the driver’s area must be padded with polystyrene or similar fireproof material.

                                                                      Safety Belts

1. No aircraft surplus belts allowed.

2. A quick release belt no less than 3" wide is compulsory. Seat belts must be within three (3) years old.

3. Shoulder harness and additional V-type seat belt compulsory.

4. A sub belt must also be used. It must be bolted to the floor in such a manner that it can be hooked into the seat and shoulder belts.

5. Both ends must be fastened to the roll bar cage of the car with aircraft quality bolts, not less than 3/8” in diameter.

6. A steel plate may be welded to the roll bar cage on the right side of the driver so the belt can be brought down in such a manner that it will keep the driver from sliding from side to side under the belt.

7. The belts must come from behind the driver.


                                                                 Firesuits/Driver Safety Gear

It is recommended that all drivers wear a SFI certified firesuit with at least a 32A-1 rating, but a 32A-5suit is recommended.Fire retardant underwear, arm restraints recommended.Gloves, racing shoes, and brace or padded strap"horse type" collar neck support mandatory! Use of HANS or Hutchins device strongly recommended.

                                                                                 Helmets

All helmets must have full head coverage and be full face.No open face helmets allowed!! Taylorsville Speedway recommends but does not require all helmets to carry a Snell 2000 or newer certification.

                                                                         Seats & Headrest

One piece high back aluminum racing seat only. Seat must be welded and bolted to the frame with minimum 3/8” bolts and washer with lock nuts. Headrest must be of adequate size so as not to allow the driver’s head to pass on either side.

                                                                        Fire Extinguishers

On board fire extinguishers are recommended in all divisions.All teams must have minimum of a 5 pound fire extinguisher in their pit area at all times..

                                                                                Switches

1. Switches must be within reach of the driver after he is strapped into the car.

2. Switches are mandatory for fuel and battery and must be clearly labeled on and off.

                                                                                 Fuel Tank

1. Fuel tanks (22 gallon max.) must be secured with steel straps, not less than two lengthwise and two crossways. Fuel cells must be properly bolted into place.Fuel cells are mandatory in ALL divisions except U-CAR (if gas tank is ahead of rear axle) and ENDURO cars. Only approved safety ball shut off assembly allowed.

2. Steel floors and firewalls are compulsory and must separate the driver from the engine and gas tank. Firewalls must be not less than 20 gauge steel, securely welded and sealed on the top, bottom and sides. Where the stock floorand firewalls are used all the holes must be covered with steel and welded or riveted.

3. All bodies must be installed on the frame in a safe approved manner.

4. No external filler connections.Filler tube neck must remain totally inside the trunk area. No access holes for filler neck are allowed. The trunk cover must have to be opened to add fuel.

                                                                 Gas Lines/Fuel Pumps

Gas lines should run under bottom of car or properly encased if run through the body. Neoprene tubing recommended. NO ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMPS ALLOWED. No pressure systems allowed.                                                                                         

                                                                   Cooling Systems

Positively no antifreeze / engine coolant or other glycol based liquids allowed. Water and only approved waterwetters allowed. Any driver found using such fluids will be subject to a $250 fine.

                                                                            Brakes

Only hydraulic four-wheel brakes allowed, and must be in excellent working condition at all times.

                                                               Miscellaneous Safety

1. A steel scattershield, not less than 3/8”must be installed over and around flywheel and clutch. Special production clutch housings are permitted in lieu of separate shields.

2. NO DOG CLUTCHES ALLOWED. The car must be able to shift into forward and reverse gear with motor running.

3. All higher division cars must have a protective shield over the drive line to protect the driver in the event the drive shaft comes unhooked. The protective shield must be at least 180° and cover the drive shaft. Steel of no less than 1/8” thickness must be used and must extend from transmission to rear of the driver seat (top to floor).

4.All driveshafts must be painted WHITE in ALL divisions.Must have a loop attached to bottom of car to hold up driveshaft in the event it comes loose from transmission.

5. All bolt-on weights must be fastened with no less than 3/8” Grade 8 bolts. Inspectors may require additional fastening of weights if deemed necessary.

                                                                        Starters/Batteries

Required in all divisions and must be in working order at all times.

                                                                    Tow Hooks/Chains

Tow hooks are required for front and back of cars in all divisions. No less than 5/16” chain required.

                                                                   Window Screen

All vehicles must have a full window screen. No chicken wire or aluminum mesh. Use 1/16” thick steel screen.

                                                                    Window Net

Mandatory in ALL divisions!!

ALL RULES NOT COVERED HEREIN SHALL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SAFETY INSPECTOR AND IF HE FEELS HE SHOULD PUT FORTH RULES ON SAFETY HE MAY DO SO AT ANY TIME.
